A rear panel for a wheeled vertical suitcase including an internal retractable pull handle assembly is described herein. The retractable pull handle assembly includes a pull handle telescopically mounted in generally parallel receiving tubes mounted to an internal surface of a rear wall of the wheeled suitcase. A receiving tube covering assembly comprising spacer elements and a covering membrane is also included and defines, with the rear wall, the rear panel of the suitcase. The spacer elements are approximately the same thickness as the receiving tubes and are mounted to the internal surface of the rear wall to define, with the receiving tubes, a flat surface. The covering membrane may thus be mounted to this flat surface to define a flat receiving surface.
