The invention concerns a vehicle rear suspension comprising an underframe (1), a swing arm (15) integral with the underframe (1) bearing the axle of a drive wheel (19) hub and a shock-absorber (24), the torque drive being transmitted to the drive wheel (19) by chain (21) and pinion gears. The invention is characterised in that the underframe (1) and/or the swing arm (15) comprises means enabling the upper strand (22) of the transmission chain (21) or the straight line extending it, to pass through the instantaneous centre of rotation C of the swing arm (15), when the vehicle is in position of static equilibrium, and enabling said upper strand (22) of the chain (21) to be located above the instantaneous centre of rotation C when the hub of the drive wheel (19) is located above its position of static equilibrium.
L'invention concerne une suspension arrière d'un véhicule, tel qu'une bicyclette, comportant un châssis, un bras oscillant solidaire du châssis et portant l'axe du moyeu d'une roue arrière motrice et un amortisseur dont les extrémités sont solidaires respectivement du châssis et du bras oscillant. Ce type de suspension arrière présente l'inconvénient d'encombrer la partie arrière du véhicule. Par ailleurs, une telle suspension arrière provoque un effet dit "de pompage" qui se traduit par un enfoncement cyclique de la suspension. La solution à ce problème consiste en ce que le bras oscillant est solidarisé par au moins deux moyens d'articulation au châssis et les extrémités de l'amortisseur sont solidaires respectivement du bras oscillant ou d'un des moyens d'articulation et une patte du châssis. La suspension procure ainsi un effet "anti-pompage" et laisse l'espace arrière dégagé pour permettre la fixation d'un garde boue ou similaire.
