ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A defroster of the resistive type is disclosed which is specifically designed to be installed on the rear window of a completely assembled motor vehicle. The heating conductors are thin pre-glued strips of solid copper or copper alloy. An apparatus is designed for applying the various paral- lel heating conductors to the inside surface of the window. Also disclosed is a method for repairing pre-existing rear window defrosters or for replacing defective factory ins- talled defroster patterns.
