PHN 7885 ABSTRACT: The present patent application starts from signal transmission by an adaptive pulse code modulation in which in accordance with the invention considerable advantages are realized at the receiver end by using means, inter alia, a considerable improvement of the repro- duction quality and quantisation noise with a minimum of additional elements. To this end the receiver is also provided with a pulse pattern analyser for a pulse group QK in- corporating at least one information pulse IK+1 subsequent to the information pulse IK, and the receiver is further- more provided with a correction circuit controlled by a control signal from the pulse pattern analyser for the pulse group QK bringing about a correction to the approxi- mation signal. - 30 -
