ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a system for transmitting data signals from a transmitting station to a receiving station over a transmission line having a variable load impedance caused by one or more load devices connected thereto, a data detection circuit in the receiving station includes a current detector magnetically coupled to the transmission line for detecting current signal components of the data signals therein, a voltage detector directly coupled to the transmission line for generating voltage signal components of the data signals and an output impedance for simultaneously receiving the current signal components and the voltage signal components and developing therefrom an output signal voltage across the impedance, whereby the output signal voltage is generated with a sufficient signal strength to be detectable irrespective of the impedance of the variable load impedance.
