The present trash receptacle (10) (and method for using the same) reduces the suction/vacuum effect in the bottom portion of the receptacle as trash bags (24) or polyliners are removed therefrom. The receptacle includes a vent (22) enabling fluid communication from a first chamber section(12) (at the bottom of the receptacle) to a second chamber section (14) which rests above the first chamber section.
