A rechargeable battery cell includes an anode with a major portion of active material, a cathode including MnO2 doped with bismuth, and a separator between the cathode and anode which substantially prevents bismuth from migrating from the cathode to the anode. The rechargeable battery cell has a high cycle life and does not contain toxic compounds found in conventional rechargeable batteries.
L'invention concerne une cellule de batterie rechargeable comprenant une anode comportant une grande partie de matière active, une cathode comprenant MnO¿2? dopé avec du bismuth et un séparateur situé entre l'anode et la cathode et qui empêche sensiblement le bismuth de passer de la cathode à l'anode. La cellule de batterie rechargeable possède un cycle de vie élevé et ne contient pas les composés toxiques trouvés dans les batteries rechargeables classiques.
