ABSTRACT The following specification discloses: a reclining chair having a seat and backrest attached and forwardly moveable together with relation to the chair frame into an upright or a reclining posture. Each side of the frame has a lever action mechanism pivotable attached between the chair frame and the seat. A forward lever of the action is of greater length than a rearward lever and each lever inclines slightly backwards when said chair is in the upright position and inclines substantially forwardly when the chair is in the reclining position thereby allowing the backrest and seat to be moved forward and outward without any backward movement thereby allowing the chair to rest against a wall in either position.
