The present invention relates generally to reagents useful in the immunotherapeutic or immunoprophylactic treatment of allergic diseases. More particularly, the present invention provides modified allergens exhibiting reduced IgE interactivity including reduced IgE production-stimulatory activity, while retaining T-cell antigenicity, which are useful in the immunomodulation of type I allergic disease conditions. The present invention further contemplates a method of immunomodulation of allergic diseases such as type I allergic disease conditions by the administration of modified allergens exhibiting reduced IgE interactivity while retaining T-cell antigenicity.
L'invention concerne, de façon générale, des réactifs utiles pour le traitement immunothérapeutique ou immunoprophylactique de maladies allergiques. Elle concerne, plus particulièrement, des allergènes modifiés présentant une interactivité limitée avec IgE, y compris une activité limitée de stimulation de la production d'IgE, tout en conservant une antigénicité par rapport aux lymphocytes T, ainsi qu'une utilité pour l'immunomodulation de maladies allergiques de type I. Elle concerne, de plus, un procédé d'immunomodulation de maladies allergiques, telles que des maladies allergiques de type I, par administration d'allergènes modifiés présentant une interactivité limitée avec IgE, tout en conservant une antigénicité aux lymphocytes T.
