The present invention provides a method of producing an insulin C-peptide, which comprises expressing in a host cell a multimeric polypeptide comprising multiple copies of a said insulin C-peptide, and cleaving said expressed polypeptide to release single copies of the insulin C-peptide. Also provided are nucleic acid molecules, expression vectors and host cells, for use in such a method and the multimeric insulin C-peptide polypeptide expressed and cleaved in such a method.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production du peptide C de l'insuline, qui consiste à exprimer dans une cellule hôte un polypeptide multimère comprenant des copies multiples dudit peptide C, et à cliver ce polypeptide exprimé de manière à libérer des copies individuelles du peptide C de l'insuline. L'invention concerne également des molécules d'acide nucléique, des vecteurs d'expression et des cellules hôtes destinés à être utilisés lors du procédé précité, ainsi que le polypeptide multimère du peptide C de l'insuline exprimé et clivé conformément à ce même procédé.
