ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A distance measuring device of the type arranged to be secured to the hub of a vehicle wheel. It has a counting mechanism, a printing mechanism for marking cards and feed mechanism for advancing wheels of the counting mechanism proportionally to the distance covered by the vehicle. The feed means has an annular pendulum suspended for swinging about the axis of the vehicle wheel. Mechanical coupling members connect the pendulum with the wheels of the counting mechanism. The feed means comprises a feed arm adapted for a rocking movement in dependency on the rotation of a worm wheel in selected direction of rotation, the rocking movement being caused by the action of a snap ring. The end positions are assumed by gradually turning the feed arm to the dead point of the snap spring, whereafter the snap spring completes the rocking movement to the stable end position.
