A two-symbol parity is generated from four-symbol data. These six symbols are subjected to EFM modulation and 8 bits of each symbol are converted into a 14- bit pattern. Two symbols are rewritten in the pit/land string formed on a disc. One of them is originally (0 × 40). By performing additional recording to the pit/land string, the pit length is increased. The 14-bit data reproduced is converted into 8-bit data at the reproduction side. That is, the original data (0 × 40) is rewritten to (0 × 22). The parity is also modified so that the additionally recorded data symbol (0 × 22) will not be detected as an error.
Selon l'invention, une parité à deux symboles est produite à partir de données à quatre symboles. Ces six symboles sont soumis à une modulation EFM et 8 bits de chaque symbole sont convertis en un modèle à 14 bits. Deux symboles sont réécrits dans la suite de creux et de plats formée sur un disque. A l'origine, l'un deux est (0 x 40). L'adjonction d'un enregistrement à la suite de creux et de plats permet d'augmenter la longueur des creux. Les données à 14 bits reproduites sont converties en données à 8 bits au niveau de la face de reproduction. En d'autres termes, les données originales (0 x 40) sont réécrites en (0 x 22). La parité est ainsi modifiée, de sorte que le symbole de donnée enregistré en plus (0 x 22) ne soit pas détecté comme étant une erreur.
