When a moving picture record start is instructed, it is judged whether the previous recording mode has been a moving picture mode by referencing information on a memory. When the previous recording mode has been a still picture mode, intermediate control information is recorded for controlling an extended file by the still picture file and following the intermediate control information, a recording operation of the moving picture mode for recording VTS is started. When the previous recording mode has been a moving picture mode, recording of the moving picture is continued as a VTS recorded in advance.

L'invention concerne un procédé consistant, lors de la commande du démarrage de l'enregistrement d'un film, à établir si le mode d'enregistrement précédent consistait en un mode film, par référencement d'informations sur une mémoire. Lorsqu'il est établi que le mode d'enregistrement précédent consistait en un mode images fixes, des informations de commande intermédiaires sont enregistrées de manière à commander un fichier étendu au moyen du fichier d'images fixes, et, suite à ces informations de commande intermédiaires, un processus d'enregistrement en mode film permettant l'enregistrement de l'ensemble des titres vidéo (VTS) est déclenché. Lorsqu'il est établi que le mode d'enregistrement précédent consistait en un mode film, l'enregistrement du film est prolongé en tant qu'ensemble des titres vidéo (VTS) préalablement enregistré.
