ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A recording apparatus for recording digital signals comprises means for receiving incoming digital signals, memory means for storing the incoming digital signals and connected to the receiving means, write address generator means for causing the incoming digital signals to be stored in the memory means in a first sequence, read address generator means for causing the digital signals in the memory means to be read out from the memory means in a second sequence different to the first, control means for selectively sequentially connecting the write address generator means and the read address generator means to the memory means, and recording means connected to the memory means for recording the digital signals read out from the memory on to a recording medium.
