ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A holder for mounting and holding a roll of recording paper for a facsimile machine or the like, the holder being adapted to hold a paper roll on an inclined surface sloping down toward the discharge side of the holder to urge the paper roll constantly toward the discharge side, and preferably being covered with a low friction material on surfaces in contact with the recording surfaces of the paper roll, restricting random movements of the paper roll within the holder and holding the paper roll in a low friction state to produce images free of contact flaws or contaminations on the recording surface of the paper.
