- 1 - Abstract: A recording tape cartridge comprises a cartridge case, a lid member having a front plate mounted on the case to be rotatable between a closed position and an open position. An opening in the bottom portion of the front plate receives a standard pin of a recording device. An abutting device projects from the front of the bottom wall of the case to protrude into the opening of the lid member up to a position substantially corresponding to the middle of the thickness of the front plate when the lid member is in its closed position. This arrangement effectively prevents dust or other dirt entering the case and ensures that any scratches on the front surface of the case are inconspicuous.
