Abstract of the Disclosure An article which comprises a hollow, radially recoverable member having at least one open end and held in a radially extended condition by restraining means, e.g. a second member, arranged externally of the member, by means of a bond between the outer surface of the member and the inner surface of the restraining means. Preferably, both the recoverable member and the means. Preferably, both restraining means is capable of being peeled away from the of portions which can be peeled from the recoverable member and may comprise a plastics or metallic restraint, having weakened portions to enable the restraint to be peeled away from the recoverable member. The article may be of elec- trically insulating material. It is useful as a protecting device, and as an insulator.
