Method of recovering a normally gaseous fluid containing sulphur compounds and elemental sulphur from an underground reser- voir (5), which method comprises constructing a well (3) extending to the underground reservoir (5) and arranging in the well (4) an open-ended tubing (12) extending to surface which tubing (12) is provided at its lower end with an annular seal (13) and with three inlet conduits (15, 25 and 26) allowing fluid flow from outside the tubing (12) to inside the tubing (12) which inlet conduits (15, 25 and 26) are located between the annular seal (13) and the surface, allowing reservoir fluid to enter into the lower end of the tubing (12), supplying gas to the inlet openings of the inlet conduits (15, 25 and 26), and introducing a solvent for sulphur into the reservoir fluid upstream to the lowermost inlet conduit (15).
