A method for maintaining a time reference for television services includes receiving a transport stream encoding a plurality of television services, and processing at least one of the television services by a first decoder, including receiving time reference data included in the transport stream, estimating a delay in receiving the time reference data, and maintaining the time reference according to the received time reference data and the estimated delay.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de conserver une référence temporelle dans des services de télévision. Ledit procédé consiste à recevoir un flux de transport codant une pluralité de services de télévision, à traiter au moins un service de télévision à l'aide d'un premier décodeur comprenant des données de référence temporelle de réception comprises dans le flux de transport, à estimer un retard dans la réception des données de référence temporelle et à conserver cette référence temporelle en fonction des données de référence temporelle reçues et du retard estimé.
