A process for recovering a polyphosphazene polyacid or acid salt obtained by hydrolyzing a polyphosphazene having at least one ester moiety present in at least one substituent group. The polyphosphazene having at least one ester moiety present in at least one substituent group is hydrolyzed with a base in an organic solvent in the presence of water. The water is present in an amount effective to induce the agglomeration of particles of the synthesized polyphosphazene polyacid or acid salt, which enhances the separation of the polyphosphazene polyacid or acid salt from a polymer-free liquid organic phase. The polymer-free liquid organic phase then is separated from the polyphosphazene acid or acid salt, whereby the polyphosphazene acid or acid salt is recovered.

Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé de récupération d'un polyacide de polyphosphazène ou d'un sel de ce polyacide. Ledit procédé consiste à hydrolyser un polyphosphazène possédant au moins une faction ester présente dans au moins un groupe substituant. Le polyphosphazène ayant au moins une fraction ester dans au moins un de ses groupes substituants est hydrolysé avec une base dans un solvant organique en présence d'eau. La quantité d'eau utilisée est suffisante pour induire l'agglomération de particules du polyacide de polyphosphazène synthétisé ou du sel acide associé, ce qui accentue la séparation du polyacide de polyphosphazène ou du sel acide associé, de la phase organique liquide ne contenant pas de polymère. Puis cette phase organique liquide ne contenant pas de polymère est séparée de l'acide de polyphosphazène ou du sel acide associé, ce qui permet la récupération de l'acide de polyphosphazène ou du sel acide associé.
