A method of recovering a precious metal from a sulphide mineral slurry which contains the precious metal which includes the steps of subjecting the slurry to a bioleaching process, supplying a feed gas which contains in excess of 21% oxygen by volume to the slurry, and recovering precious metal from a bioleach residue of the bioleaching process.
L'invention concerne un procédé de récupération d'un métal précieux à partir d'une suspension de minéraux sulfurés contenant ce métal précieux, qui consiste en ce qui suit: soumettre la suspension à la lixiviation biologique; injecter dans la suspension un gaz d'alimentation qui contient un excès de 21 % d'oxygène en termes de volume; et récupérer le métal précieux à partir du résidu du procédé de lixiviation biologique.
