An apparatus to recover at least a portion of small particles of gold from a slurry material is provided. The apparatus comprises a) a cylinder having a top end, an opposite bottom end, a longitudinal axis and a cylinder wall circumscribing the longitudinal axis; b) separating means; c) means, disposed adjacent the cylinder wall within the cylinder, for holding the gold directed toward the cylinder wall; d) discharge means for directing the centrifugally-separated slurry material from the cylinder; and e) means for powering the separating means. The separating means can comprise pumping means for directing the slurry material through the bottom end of the cylinder and into the cylinder, and spinning means for applying a centrifugal force to the slurry material within the cylinder so that at least a portion of the gold within the slurry material is directed toward the cylinder wall. The powering means can comprise a motor producing a rotational output, and a drive shaft having a first end connected to the motor and a second end connected to the separating means, so that the rotational output of the motor is translated to the separating means.
Appareil permettant la récupération au moins partielle de particules d'or présentes dans des boues, et constitué par a) une chambre définie par un corps cylindrique, un dessus et un fond; b) un dispositif de séparation; c) un dispositif de collecte des particules d'or, situé à proximité de la paroi interne de la chambre; d) un dispositif de vidange pour éliminer les boues séparées par centrifugation dans la chambre; et e) un dispositif d'entraînement du dispositif de séparation. Le dispositif de séparation peut comporter un système de pompage pour refouler les boues dans la chambre puis les éliminer après la sépartion, et un dispositif d'entraînement en rotation pour créer à l'intérieur de la chambre une force centrifuge susceptible de projeter contre la paroi cylindrique une partie au moins des particules d'or présentes dans les boues. Le dispositif d'entraînement en rotation peut comporter un moteur et un arbre de transmission relié au moteur et au dispositif de séparation, de manière que le mouvement rotatif produit par le moteur soit transmis au dispositif de séparation.
