A self propelled kayak type water craft is provided with a seating assembly providing tlae occupant's center of gravity to be approximate and consistent with the horizontal plane position of the water surface line with respect to said vessel; said water vessel being equipped with removal and telescopically adjustable parallel side floatation members to provide increased stability if desirable, as well as provide provisions foe ease of transportation; said self propelled vessel also being characterized by a steering mechanism and pivot point consistent with the vessels dorsal plane's view center of mass thus providing ease of maneuverability; said vessel being provided with a gear ratio to maximize the relationship between human power and speed; as well said propulsion mechanism has provisions to ensure ideal ergonomic location of said propulsion mechanism and the occupant.
