A cyclone (500) suitable for use in a third stage separator in a fluid catalytic cracking unit or to improve other gas/solid separations. The cyclone has an inlet for gas and entrained solids (515) and a clean gas outlet tube (520) at one end of a cyclone body. Solids and some gas are withdrawn through a solids outlet (545) and discharged into a catch chamber. Some of the gas discharged with the solids into the catch chamber is returned to the interior of the cyclone body through a gas reflux opening in the cyclone (555). Chaotic reflux of gas back into the cyclone through the solids outlet is eliminated.
L'invention porte sur un cyclone (500) utilisé dans un séparateur de troisième étage d'une unité de cracking catalytique d'un fluide ou pour améliorer d'autres types de séparations gaz/solide. Ledit cyclone comporte une entrée pour le gaz et les solides entraînés (515), et un tube (520) de sortie des gaz épurés située à l'une des extrémités du corps du cyclone. Les solides et une partie du gaz extraits par un orifice d'évacuation (545) parviennent dans une chambre de capture, une partie du gaz évacué avec les solides dans la chambre de capture retournant à l'intérieur du corps du cyclone par un orifice de reflux pratiqué dans le corps du cyclone (555). On évite ainsi un reflux turbulent des gaz dans le cyclone par l'orifice d'évacuation des solides.
