In a wireless telecommunications system, data processing delays associated with digital channelization and de-channelization may be reduced through the use of a technique that involves processing data blocks in conjunction with the transformation of the data blocks by a large, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithm, and makes use of multiple transmission and reception branches. In accordance with this technique, the processing delays associated with the FFT algorithm are minimized, but not to the detriment of other important channelizer/de-channelizer design characteristics, such as power consumption, die area and computational complexity.

L'invention concerne permet de réduire les temps de traitement de données associés à la canalisation et à la décanalisation numérique dans un système de télécommunication sans fil au moyen d'une technique consistant à traiter les blocs de données conjointement à la transformation des blocs de données au moyen d'un long algorithme de transformation de Fourier rapide (FFT), et à utiliser des branches multiples d'émission et de réception. Dans cette technique, les temps de traitement associés à l'algorithme de FFT sont réduits sans que cela ne porte préjudice à d'autres caractéristiques importantes de la structure du canaliseur/décanaliseur, telles que la consommation d'énergie, la surface des puces et la complexité algorithmique.
