Sparseness is reduced in an input digital signal which includes a first sequence of sample values. An output digital signal is produced in response to the input digital signal. The output digital signal includes a second sequence of sample values, which second sequence of sample values has a greater density of non-zero sample values than the first sequence of sample values.

Selon cette invention, on réduit la dispersion dans un signal numérique d'entrée (A) qui comprend une première séquence de valeurs d'échantillon. Un signal numérique de sortie (B) est émis en réponse au signal numérique d'entrée. Le signal numérique de sortie comprend une deuxième séquence de valeurs d'échantillon qui, comparée à la première séquence de valeurs d'échantillon, possède une plus grande densité de valeurs d'échantillon non égales à zéro.
