ABSTRACT This invention is directed to a method for preventing polymerization of aqueous acrylamide con- tained in a vessel comprising passing an oxygen- containing gas through the aqueous acrylamide con- taining acrylonitrile and then contacting the result- ing gas stream solely with a carbon adsorbent. This is a particularly advantageous method when aqueous acrylamide is stored in remote locations.
