The present invention relates to a method for reduction of chrominum content in slag during melting of stainless steel in electric arc furnaces where steel scrap and additive alloys are melted in an electric steel furnace, whereafter molten steel and slag are tapped into a ladle, removal of the slag from the steel in the ladle, transferring of the molten steel from the ladle to a converter wherein the steel is refined and where the chemical composition of the steel is adjusted by addition of alloying elements. According to the invention fine particulate ferrosilicon is added to the slag during the time interval between the slag and the steel are melted, but before the molten steel and slag is tapped into the ladle.
L'invention concerne un procédé de réduction de la teneur en chrome d'un laitier, lors de la fusion d'acier inoxydable dans des fours à arc électrique, ce procédé consistant à porter à fusion des débris d'acier et des alliages d'ajout, dans un four d'aciérie électrique, puis à soutirer l'acier et le laitier en fusion, dans une poche de coulée, à enlever le laitier à partir de l'acier, dans la poche de coulée, à transférer l'acier en fusion de cette poche vers un convertisseur dans lequel cet acier est corroyé et dans lequel on règle la composition chimique de l'acier en ajoutant des éléments d'alliage. Selon l'invention, on ajoute au laitier du ferrosilicium en particules fines, pendant la portée à fusion du laitier et de l'acier, mais avant le soutirage de l'acier et du laitier dans la poche de coulée.
