An apparatus for reducing a digital filter delay includes means (10) for determining the magnitude response of a desired filter. Means (12, 14, 16) form the real cepstrum of this magnitude response. Means (18) transform the real cepstrum into a complex cepstrum of a corresponding minimum-phase filter having the same magnitude response as the desired filter. A filter (20) applies a smoothly decaying shaping window to the complex cepstrum. Means (22, 24) transform the shaped complex cepstrum into an estimated minimum-phase filter.

L'invention concerne un appareil visant à réduire un retard de filtre numérique, qui comprend des moyens (10) permettant de déterminer la réponse d'amplitude d'un filtre désiré. Des moyens (12, 14, 16) forment le cepstre réel de la réponse d'amplitude. Des moyens (18) transforment le cepstre réel en cepstre complexe d'un filtre à phase minimum correspondant présentant la même réponse d'amplitude que celle du filtre désiré. Un filtre (20) applique une fenêtre de mise en forme légèrement décroissante au cepstre complexe. Des moyens (22, 24) transforment le cepstre complexe formé en filtre à phase minimum estimé.
