A process for reducing a metal-containing material, the process comprising: providing a metal-containing material (5), heating said metal-containing material by convective and/or conductive and/or radiative means (2), exposing said metal-containing material to microwave (MW) energy (3 ), exposing said metal-containing material to radio frequency (RF) energy (4), and exposing said metal-containing material to a reducing agent (8). The method, which does not involve dielectric heating during exposure to MW and RF energy, enables more energy-efficient chemical reduction of metal-containing ores and ore concentrates and increases metallization yield.
Procédé de réduction d'un matériau métallifère englobant les opérations suivantes: chauffage d'un matériau métallifère (5) par des moyens de convection et/ou de conduction et/ou de radiation (2); exposition dudit matériau métallifère à une énergie à micro-ondes (MW) (3); exposition de ce matériau métallifère à une énergie de radiofréquence (RF) (4), et exposition dudit matériau à un agent réducteur (8),. Ce procédé, qui n'implique pas de chauffage diélectrique pendant l'exposition à l'énergie des micro-ondes et des radiofréquences, permet une réduction chimique plus efficace des minerais métallifères et des concentrés de minerais et augmente le rendement de la métallisation.
