-21- A reel type mower grinding assembly, the mower comprising a roller assembly and a reel located behind the roller assembly for cutting grass having a generally horizontal shaft having an axis, at least one blade coupled to the shaft and generally longitudinal thereto. The grinding assembly comprising a frame, a housing on the frame, a motor on the frame, a drive assembly being driven by the motor, a second shaft at an end of the drive assembly located in front of the housing such that the second shaft is rotated about a horizontal axis by the drive assembly. A grinding stone coupled transversely to the second shaft arranged to rotate about the axis thereon, a pair of arms extending from the housing pivotally connected thereto and connected to respective ends of the second shaft, an arm adjustment mechanism at respective outer most ends of each arm of the frame is arranged to raise and lower the arms such that a front end of the arms is raised and lowered and a rear end is pivoted on the housing. A grinding stone adjustment assembly on the frame such that the stone has horizontal movement on the second shaft for grinding the blades of the reel mower, a mower support mechanism coupled to the frame such that the mower is located on the housing and the reel shaft is parallel to the second shaft and a reel shaft drive adjustably mounted on the frame for rotating the reel shaft about the axis such that the blade is engaged by the stone.
