Abstract of the Disclosure In the reference electrode for the oxygen probe comprising a mixture of Cr powder and Cr2O3 powder, an improved reference electrode characterized in that Cr powder and Cr2O3 powder are mixed in a ratio 97% : 3% to 80% : 20 and the mixture is sintered beforehand is disclosed. An oxygen probes using this electrode exhibits improved response, stability and reproducibility in molten steel.
