An apparatus for supporting a pad of paper comprising a plurality of sheets joined together at a joined edge portion, the joined edge portion having at least one hole therethrough is disclosed. The apparatus includes a substantially rigid support member including a front surface and a back surface, the support member configured to support the pad of paper at an edge portion of the support member, wherein the edge portion includes a recess that is arranged to allow a portion of the plurality of sheets to be accessed from the back surface of the support member; and at least one fastener member provided at the edge portion of the support member and projecting forwardly therefrom, the at least one fastener member being configured to be received in the at least one hole in the joined edge portion of the pad of paper being engaged with the front surface of the support member so as to removably secure the pad of paper to the support member.
