ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides, in a refiner comprising feed means feeding material to be ground into the gap between grinding disks and comprising a tubular jacket housing a feed screw axially rotatable on a shaft said jacket having a top confining wall and an aperture therein for the feeding material from a container located thereabove into the jacket, and said refiner having at least one rotatable said grinding disk, the improvement in which the feed screw is connected by a coupling to the rotatable disk and obtains its rotary motion from the rotary motion of the grinding disk.
