ABSTRACT A refinish painting system is disclosed comprising applying masking tape having different widthwise areas thereof adhesive and non-adhesive areas, respectively, to a surface to be refinish painted so as to form a tapered pocket and a paint demarcation line along the base of said pocket and thereafter applying paint to said surface and into said pocket so as to feather the applied paint along said demarcation line.
