The invention relates to a method for producing ionic channels or functional sub-units of the same folded in the active structure thereof. According to said method, expressed sub-units of an ionic channel which are solubilised and denatured in a first detergent are provided, and the first detergent is then exchanged for a second detergent which induces folding of the sub-units of an ionic cannel in the native structure thereof. The sub-units of the ionic channel are then assembled in the active structure thereof.
