The invention relates to a reformer mixing chamber comprising a feed for liquid fuel supply by means of a nozzle, a feed for a water vapour supply to the first area of the mixing chamber and a feed for oxidising agent supply to the second area thereof, wherein said second area is arranged downstream of the first area. Said invention also relates to a method for operating the mixing chamber consisting in evaporating a fuel and in mixing said fuel with an oxydation agent. The liquid, preferably cold, fuel is introduced into the mixing chamber by means of a nozzle and is atomised. The contact between the atomised fuel and hot water vapour also introduced into the mixing chamber initiates the fuel vaporisation in the first area thereof. The oxidation agent, preferably also cold, is added to the evaporated fuel in the second area of the mixing chamber and is homogeneously mixed therewith.
La présente invention concerne une chambre de mélange pour un reformeur comprenant une conduite d'alimentation conçue pour fournir du carburant liquide par l'intermédiaire d'une buse, ainsi qu'une conduite d'alimentation conçue pour fournir de la vapeur d'eau dans une première zone de la chambre de mélange et une conduite d'alimentation conçue pour fournir un agent d'oxydation dans une seconde zone de la chambre de mélange. La seconde zone est placée en aval de la première zone. Cette invention concerne également un procédé pour faire fonctionner cette chambre de mélange. Ce procédé consiste à vaporiser un carburant et à le mélanger à un agent d'oxydation. Selon ce procédé, le carburant liquide de préférence froid est amené dans la chambre de mélange par l'intermédiaire d'une buse, puis est atomisé. Le contact entre le carburant atomisé et de la vapeur d'eau chaude qui est également introduite dans la chambre de mélange provoque une vaporisation du carburant dans la première zone de la chambre de mélange. Un agent d'oxydation qui est de préférence également froid est amené au carburant vaporisé dans une seconde zone de la chambre de mélange et est mélangé à celui-ci de manière homogène.
