Disclosed is a reforming catalyst for hydrocarbons which has high catalyst activity and is capable of maintaining the strength of the carrier even after a long thermal history. Such a reforming catalyst is obtained by loading a carrier containing manganese oxide and alumina and further added with at least one compound selected from lanthanum oxide, cerium oxide and zirconium oxide or a carrier containing silicon oxide, manganese oxide and alumina with at least one noble metal component selected from ruthenium, platinum, rhodium, palladium and iridium. Hydrogen is produced using such a reforming catalyst through (1) steam reforming, (2) autothermal reforming, (3) partial oxidation reforming or (4) carbon dioxide reforming. A fuel cell system is composed of a reformer comprising such a reforming catalyst and a fuel cell which uses the hydrogen produced by such a reformer as the fuel.

Il est prévu un catalyseur de reformage pour hydrocarbures ayant une activité catalytique élevée et capable de préserver la résistance du porteur même après une longue activité thermique. On obtient un tel catalyseur de reformage en chargeant un porteur contenant de l~oxyde de manganèse et de l~alumine, avant d~ajouter au moins un composé sélectionné parmi l~oxyde de lanthane, l~oxyde de cérium et l~oxyde de zirconium ou bien un porteur contenant de l~oxyde de silicium, de l~oxyde de manganèse et de l~alumine avec au moins un composant de métal noble sélectionné parmi le ruthénium, le platine, le rhodium, le palladium et l~iridium. L~hydrogène est produit à l~aide d~un tel catalyseur de reformage par (1) reformage à vapeur, (2) reformage autothermique, (3) reformage à oxydation partielle ou (4) reformage au dioxyde de carbone. Un système à cellule électrochimique se compose d~un reformeur comprenant un tel catalyseur de reformage et une cellule électrochimique utilisant l~hydrogène produit par un tel reformeur comme élément électrochimique.
