ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A catalyst comprised of a composite of an inorganic oxide support with platinum, rhenium and a small amount of copper and optionally a halogen. The catalyst may be prepared by impregnating the preformed support with a copper-containing halogen acid solution, neutralizing the impregnated support and impregnating the neutralized support with solutions containing the platinum and rhenium components. Reforming process using catalyst is also covered.
