The invention concerns a refractometer and a method for measuring refractive index. The method consists in directing an incident light ray on a diopter (7) consisting of a medium (4) with known refractive index and of the tested medium (5), then, in measuring the intensity of the reflected light ray (E). The ration between the intensity of the incident ray (B) and that of the reflected ray (E) enables to calculate, by means of Fresnel's formulae, the refractive index of the medium being tested.
L'invention concerne un réfractomètre et une méthode de mesure de l'indice de réfraction. L'invention consiste à diriger un rayon lumineux incident sur un dioptre (7) composé d'un milieu (4) d'indice de réfraction connu et du milieu (5) étudié, puis à mesurer l'intensité du rayon lumineux réfléchi (E). Le rapport entre l'intensité du rayon incident (B) et celle du rayon réfléchi (E) permet de calculer, au moyen des formules de Fresnel, l'indice de réfraction du milieu étudié.
