Self-aligning nuts [38, 38a] contained in recesses [28, 28a] of a refractory casting [26, 42a] generally align with bolts [20, 20a] radially extending through holes [22] spaced around the periphery of a retainer [18, 44] in the nose ring [16]. The nuts [38, 38a] and recesses [28, 28a] are sized and configured to permit limited lateral and rotational displacement of the nut [38, 38a] for threadingly engaging the bolts [20, 20a].
