Abstract of the Disclosure. Refrigerating plant of the type adapted to use a secondary cooling medium, for instance in the form of cold water or brine comprises a gas-tight housing in which at least one refrigerant circuit, adapted to use ammonia, is arranged which is connected with a cold water circuit and, respectively, with a cooling water circuit and which consists of an evaporator, a compressor and a condenser. A cooler is also arranged in the housing and is connected with the cooling water or brine circuit for the removal of heat dissipated in the housing. Adjacent to the upper wall of the housing there is a sprinkler device in the housing and in the vicinity of the lower wall of the housing there is runout zone. The housing is provided with connections, which extend through its wall in a gas-tight manner, for the cold water and brine circuits respectively, the supply of cooling water for the condenser, the supply of water for the sprinkler device and the removal of liquid from the runout zone. There are furthermore gas-tight connections for the supply of electrical power and for signal transmission in connection with control, automatic control and monitoring devices.
