This refrigeration system comprises a plurality of exchangers (E1, E2, E3) in a cascade, each of said exchangers comprising; - a flow (150) of cold-producing liquefied methane, - a high-pressure flow (122) of a two- phase mixture of refrigerants that gives up its heat and that comprises refrigerants having a low standard boiling point, and - a low-pressure flow (100) of a two-phase mixture of said cold-producing refrigerants.

Ce système frigorifique comporte une pluralité d'échangeurs (E1, E2, E3) en cascade, chacun desdits échangeurs comportant: un débit (150) de méthane liquéfié producteur de froid; un débit (122) haute pression d'un mélange diphasique de fluides frigorigènes cédant sa chaleur et comportant des fluides frigorigènes à basse température normale d'ébullition; et un débit (100) basse pression de mélange diphasique desdits fluides frigorigènes producteur de froid.
