ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel tub-type portable refuse container is provided herein. The container includes, as a framework, a pair of spaced-apart, parallel, longitudinally-extending rails, each rail being connected to an associate one of a pair of spaced-apart upstanding columns. The container includes, as a receptacle, an unframed tub-type container having an outwardly-bowed bottom floor, the bottom floor being supported on the longitudinally-extending rails. The receptacle includes a forward wall supported by the pair of spaced- apart upstanding columns, a rear wall provided with an openable and closeable door, and a pair of side walls. Each side wall is inwardly, downwardly sloping so that the open top is wider than the foor, and slopes downwardly from the forward end to the rear end so that the rear end is of less height than the forward end. The pair of side walls converge from the forward end to the rear end so that the rear end is narrower than the forward end. As reinforcing for the framework, a rear cross-member is provided comprising a pair of transverse structural members reinforced by a sump plate.
