A method for the removal of an amine captureable gas from a feed gas stream using an amine solvent, the method comprises (a) contacting the feed gas stream with a lean amine solvent to form a rich amine solvent, wherein heat stable salts are present in the rich amine solvent; (b) stripping amine captureable gas from the rich amine solvent to form the lean amine solvent and an overhead reflux stream; (c) periodically contacting at least a portion of one or both of the lean amine solvent and the rich amine solvent with an anion exchange resin to form a first heat stable salt lean amine solvent; (d) periodically regenerating the anion exchange resin, wherein during the regeneration of the anion exchange resin, at least a portion of the reflux stream is used to wash the amine solvent from the anion exchange resin to produce a second heat stable salt lean amine solvent; and, (e) recycling at least a portion of the first and the second heat stable salt lean amine solvent for use in capturing the amine captureable gas from the feed gas.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'élimination par solvant amine d'un gaz capturable par amine dans un flux de gaz d'alimentation. Ce procédé englobe les opérations suivantes: (a) mise en contact du flux de gaz d'alimentation avec un solvant amine pauvre en vue de l'obtention d'un solvant amine riche; (b) épuration du gaz capturable par amine du solvant amine riche dans le but de former un solvant amine pauvre et un reflux supérieur; (c) mise en contact périodique d'au moins une partie soit du solvant amine pauvre avec soit du solvant amine riche avec un résine d'échange anionique, soit des deux à la fois, pour former un premier solvant amine pauvre à sel thermostable. Pendant la régénération de la résine d'échange anionique, une partie au moins du reflux est utilisé pour séparer par lavage le solvant amine de la résine d'échange anionique et obtenir ainsi un second solvant amine pauvre à sel thermostable; et (e) recyclage d'au moins une partie du premier et du second solvants amines pauvres à sel thermostable pour la capture d'un gaz amine dans le gaz d'alimentation.
