REGENERATIVE BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR DC MOTOR Abstract of the Disclosure A regenerative brake control system for a DC motor provides a resistor in series with the motor, a switch for short- circuiting the resistor and a chopper connected in parallel with a series circuit including the motor and the resistor for controlling the armature current of the motor by on-off opera- tion of the chopper. There is provision for controlling the duty cycle of the chopper, and a filter circuit is connected through a diode to a parallel circuit including the chopper and the series circuit. The duty cycle control includes an automatic current regulator for causing the motor current to follow the current command value. An automatic voltage regu- lator controls the voltage not to exceed the equivalent source voltage, such voltage being equal to the motor voltage less the voltage drop across the resistor. A switch control con- sists of first and second comparators for controlling a switch used for short-circuiting the resistor by utilizing the output signal produced from the automatic voltage regulator, which regulator acts on the current regulator to reduce the current command value. The short-circuiting switch fails to operate in the voltage control region of the voltage regulator.
