ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A regulating wheelhead drive for a centerless grinder for ready replacement of wheels and providing for easily and positively verifiable engagement comprising a drive means including a drive coupling having a tapered inner bore and a threaded outer diameter, a drive shaft independently supported by bearing means, the drive shaft having a tapered portion for engaging the tapered inner bore of the drive coupling means, and a threaded portion, clamp ring means having an internal threaded bore for engaging the threaded portion of the drive shaft, lock ring means having a threaded inner bore for engaging the threaded portion of the drive coupling for jamming the clamp ring means, and a coupling means having orthogonally disposed lug means and key slot means.
