This invention relates to methods of regulating the effect of neural enzymes. It particularly relates to increasing the effective amount of the neural enzymes choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD) and nitric oxide synthetase (NOS) in the central nervous system (CNS) through the administration of GPE.

L'invention concerne des méthodes permettant de réguler les effets d'enzymes neurales. Elle concerne notamment l'augmentation, dans le système nerveux central, de la quantité efficace de certaines enzymes neurales, l'acétylcholine transférase (ChAT), l'acide glutamique décarboxylase (GAD) et la monoxyde d'azote synthétase (NOS), par administration du tripeptide GPE.
