A generally U-shaped reinforced chain link element is disclosed herein. The chain link element comprises a central supporting portion and two connecting legs symmetrically mounted to the supporting portion. The central portion has a cross-section greater than the cross-sections of the legs. Such reinforced chain link elements and chain links can be used, for example, in multi-ring assemblies of chain for tires and in endless chain belts. Reinforced chain link can also be formed by connecting the legs from to reinforced chain link element.
