ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A drapery rod comprises a ductile wire stiffener which is plastically deformable by manually generated stresses. The ductile wire stiffener is surrounded by a solid cylindrical member made up of resiliently deformable material, such as polypropylene foam. The drapery rod can be plastically deformed to conform to unusually shaped windows, such as semi- circles. The ends of the rod may be deformed to provide returns.
